Interventional Radiology training in Temple

The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Baylor College of Medicine (Temple) Program offers three pathways for physicians pursuing interventional radiology:

  • Integrated IR Residency for applicants entering after a clinical year
  • Independent IR Residency for physicians completing diagnostic radiology training
  • Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) for residents in our Diagnostic Radiology Residency

Our training environment has deep roots in Central Texas. The radiology department was founded in 1912, and the Diagnostic Radiology Residency began in 1945. IR fellowship training began in 2009 and evolved into our Independent IR Residency in 2020.

Today, our IR department performs over 13,000 cases per year, giving trainees broad exposure to vascular and nonvascular interventions, interventional oncology, and outpatient care.
